We are proud to share that our CEO Devshi Mehrotra was recently selected as one of eleven Camelback 2021 Fellows for her leadership at JusticeText. Mehrotra was chosen from a large pool of over 350 applicants.
Camelback Ventures is a New Orleans-based organization that is dedicated to increasing access to capital and connections for BIPOC and female entrepreneurs. The organization is grounded in a central belief that “genius is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.” Their team believes that social entrepreneurship is a powerful force for combating racial and economic inequities in American society today. Since its founding in 2015, the organization has supported over 80 fellows.
Through the fellowship, Mehrotra will receive access to a 15-week virtual curriculum beginning in August 2021 and a $40,000 investment to further scale JusticeText’s impact within the public defense community.
“The Camelback team has cultivated a space where we can have difficult conversations about identity and purpose in a way that I have only rarely experienced in other startup communities,” said Mehrotra. “I am excited to use my time in the program to deepen my relationships with the other fellows and scale JusticeText through our next phase of growth.”
